Childhood Favourites.

.... and I'm talking early childhood here; what you were read as opposed to what read yourself. This particular accolade in my life goes to:

I've no idea why but apparently this was my favourite by a mile. What it says about me, I've no idea.

Loved the Jackson and Livingston books but my fave childhood books go to :

& Last but certainly not least

I still read where the wild things are although I do know it off by heart I read it to my little boy. Or rather he looks at the pictures and when he turns the pages I recite the next page, he's started joining in 2111

My mum used to recite me Billy goats gruff when I was really little. That and Jabberwocky, which again I can recite jabberwocky to my lad occasionally 2111

Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
