Childhood Favourites.

.... and I'm talking early childhood here; what you were read as opposed to what read yourself. This particular accolade in my life goes to:



I've no idea why but apparently this was my favourite by a mile. What it says about me, I've no idea.

was Learning Tree for me. Plenty of Roald Dahl, sprinklings of tolkien.

I remember every Sunday night had an hour or so where me and my Sis were read to before we went to bed, fave books were The Chronicles of Narnia, wasn't a fan of the 4th one but loved the rest

oh yeah, forgot The Narnia chronicles - I remember Voyage of the dawntreader most fondly.

I still read where the wild things are although I do know it off by heart I read it to my little boy. Or rather he looks at the pictures and when he turns the pages I recite the next page, he's started joining in

By the age of 5 I was big into hammer horror and by the age of 8 I was reading Fist of the North Star, Akira, Appleseed and watching Myazaki Movies so always been a bit of a Kotaku

all i remember is a lot of feckin enid blyton the teacher used to read to us - a personal fave was the far away tree, good times

I never remember being read novels, I feel rather embarassed now with my damned Billy Goats!

My mum used to recite me Billy goats gruff when I was really little. That and Jabberwocky, which again I can recite jabberwocky to my lad occasionally

Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
