Re: Recommend a Book
andy mcdermott is well worth a look at
the hunt for atlantis
the tomb of hercules
the secret of excailibur
all great action titles
my best all time read is the lost regiment books by william r forstchen
the basic plot is a regiment of union soldiers get transported to another world by gateways during a storm at sea they find lots of human settelments representing earths past all over the world all is well until the turgar turn up ten foot tall monsters that travel the world on horseback and treat the humans as cattle one in ten must be given to the turgar as food or all die.
the horde of turgar are numberless the tribute must be given or all die under a hail of arrows and spears one turgar can kill ten humans
the union men are told that they to must be slaves and give one in ten as the horde passes through but the union men have a secret weapon gunpowder!

Re: Recommend a Book
if you like true stories take a look at Devils Guard, if you can find it. It is the story of a Waffen SS officer at the end of WW II who finds his way into the french foreign legion. He then ends up fighting for the french in indochina (Vietnam). Fantastic story and prob best book i've read, but quite rare now as no longer in print. If you find it ,read it, then sell it to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Failing that Scar Tissue, Anthony keidis's (frontman, red hot chilli peppers) bio is excellent.

Re: Recommend a Book
I would suggest some of the halo books as they are a good read, they also helped me to appreciate the game because I'm not its biggest fan. I like ODST and halo wars but halo 3 just doesn't do it for me.
If anyone wants them I have the first 3 halo books as .pdf files on my computer, give the world and I will gladly host them so anyone can download them and have a read.
They are well written and very interesting.

For non fiction I would recommend the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, I am reading it at the moment and it is fantastic

Yeah I got it for my mum as a stocking filler and I couldn't resist so it's mine now
Worth it though very good spin on the old story.
