Gears of War 2 - XGL Tournament Invitation

Your Clan has been invited to join our Gears of War 2 Curbstomp Clan Tournament. This tournament is a 4v4 Knockout based tournament where the aim is to progress to the final and knocking out your opponants in the processs. The main reasoning why this is a 4v4 tournament is to reduce lag in matches due to the player count and also allows a space for a video referee to be in all the matches. This event is invitation only to ensure that we have clans that can stick to the event and to compete at a high level as the invites has been judged by your clans rep and how your clan match results have been. This event is aimed for the clans to compete against each other aswell as aquire new clan contacts ro play in future matches.

This Tournament is sponsored by Gamevids ([/size][size=9][size=9]www.gamevids.tv[/size][/size][size=9]) and all footage from the tournament matches that will be taken by our video referees will be featured exclusivly on gamevids, the tournament prize for the winning team will be 4x 2100 Microsoft points provided by Gamevids. Our secondary Sponsor is Clan Pixel (www.xglclan.co.uk/ClanPixel) and the sponsor will provide a tournament prize for the team in 2nd place of the tournament the prize will be 4x 800 Microsoft points and a free premium ad space on clan pixel to display and advertise their clan.[/size]

The Tournament is on the Execution gamemode and all matches will be the best of 3 maps with the deciding map being chosen by the clan with most round wins overall but incase of a draw in rounds then the video referee will select the decider map. The game settings will be using the MLG Summer ruleset that includes the use of the lancer and their will be a selected number of maps including maps from the flashback map pack and weapon swaps will be detailed too. we realise we will invite a fair few casual clans to this tournament so they won't be used to the competitive ruleset so we do encourage all clans to practice with the MLG ruleset as i believe it will lift your game more and also boost your teamwork due to the use of the settings, it can be discouraging changing the settings for every map but we have our video referees in the matches that will be the neutral host of the matches along with checking to make sure the matches are cheat free and also recording footage of the matches via a capture card that will be uploaded exclusivly to www.gamevids.tv

Think BOX might be entering could finally sort a clan match with them via this.

Yeah sounds good, finally a clan that has found a way of eliminating host advantage, the changes with weapon swaps can work in our favour bcos i personally think we are one of the best clans at using standard weapons. TBH think we could get 2 teams for this but new members be aware you might get some very difficult battles.

Need to check the rules on subs though?

Will have chat with Webby and see if we can put more than one team in. For 4v4 could get loads but at least 2 would be easy. Would also avoid leaving people out.

So be careful...

We was gonna enter 2 into codw but to be fair its tough on the nuumber 2 team. If they can accept its gonna be very very hard then fair enough.

well knowing the GOW group, there's a lot of enthusiasm (not like the COD dont but...) so i shudn't see a prob... and u can also kinda specialise... have a snipe team and a shotty team or something like that, i think it will be good... and as with Al im entering my interest now!!

Yeah definitely interested in this and maybe a run about night would be useful for picking teams and a subs pool. Maybe mix it around with people who prefer different weapons and certain partnerships that work.
