Synaesthesia
okay for now I've set the files in folder called synaesthesia - the music files, the word doc with the questionnaire and the "rules" in my music folder and I am izorpo23 at soulseek - there's also a nifty little program called Audio Paint in the folder - basically with the program you can take any image, artwork and the program generates tonal noises from the images fed into the program. It's a small program but if downloading from soulseek you'll need to adjust the files you can download because it has an exe.
if you want to participate and don't want to use soulseek - maybe a torrent ould work - it's only 5 music tracks, a word doc and audio paint program (less than 42 mb) - however soulseek is eacellent for music files - its no audio galaxy but then oh well - also if I'm not on just send me a message and I'll put it on.
I'm not a musician but this was my music track I produced from the tones generated I then played the track in the 360 using the old Jeff Mintor wavelab program to manipulate the graphics - I don't think this program is on the 360 since the update where they got rid of the blades - anyone that does make music may find the program has some interesting uses. It would also be interesting to see what the musicians on this forum would produce with the sounds the art work makes.

Re: Synaesthesia
doesn't seem to want to come through on torrent, may have to get it off you via soulseek at some point. Says there is one seed and peer, but isn't connecting to them.

Re: Synaesthesia
got it, will leave seeding today and tonight (with exception of online gaming times - even inactive torrent seems to effect XBL). Quite looking forward to having a go. Will probably do this on Sunday. Just hoping that if I recognize the track, the album art doesn't influence me.

well yeah - it was really difficult for me - some of the participants were familiar with the music others weren't but what was really weird - even one track where the group has a very specific colour combination associated with them - even people that had no idea who they were or anything chose those same colours and symbol. and another weird thing and this is really strange people that were also musicians (1 familiar with the music, one wasn't drew out the same images for several tracks). think of it as hearing the tracks for the first time - possibly close your eyes and try to draw out the first shapes whatever that appear - keep in mind you don't have to finish the image by the time the track ends - i listened to a couple of them a few times mainly to shake out any preconceived notions I had of the music
forgot to mention the questionnaire is for each track - best to answer it after the track before embarking on the next one...just so that the feelings etc are fresh
when everyone is finished - I'll put the images through premier and make a film again.

Re: Synaesthesia
wanted to know if anyone has tried out the project yet - mainly this is just the starting point for a project this year at uni - which I shall be posting details in the next month or so as I would like you all to participate - especially as it won't necessarily require anyone to create anything - besides various art projects...err pranks I have planned this year - the responses will be part of my dissertation on anti-art.
besides that I'm really curious to see how people responded to the synaesthesia project
